HEAD OF FILMING

Responsibilities:

  • Shares a deep understanding of technical filmmaking and cinematography for all styles of film
  • Leads the team of filming crew (FTEs and freelancers) for projects at VIEW and is prepared to be a hands on camera operator 
  • Maintains the highest quality of filming at VIEW by setting standards and best practice procedures
  • Trains all crew members to meet his/her own high level of filming standards
  • Works closely with creative teams and clients, providing technical expertise on how to fulfil the creative brief
  • Manages all decisions on technical approach to filming, lighting, audio and camera equipment, whilst keeping to project budget
  • Works collaboratively within a production team to deliver pre-production logistics efficiently and within budget
  • Builds schedules and filming shot lists to ensure deadlines and project requirements are met
  • Directs the crew on set for each project, managing any unforeseen technical hitches with equipment or set changes
  • Manages and maintains the VIEW filming kit
  • Drives execution to ensure best in class films

Camera Operator

Are you outrageously good at lighting a film set to create the perfect backdrop for an interviewee? Have you explored new ways to create slick, professional films? Do you possess strong director skills so that you can get the best out of the subject being filmed?

  • Draws on a minimum of 2 years commercial/corporate filming experience to create beautiful footage. Experience to include lighting techniques, camera movement, technical camera settings and audio
  • Meticulous planning skills to ensure the filming day runs smoothly, deciding on what camera, lighting, background, and audio equipment should meet filming brief
  • Works tirelessly to transport kit nationwide and abroad and has excellent time management skill to ensure filming schedules are met with our clients
  • Proactively manages the audio and lighting setups, the equipment on set including pre planning for batteries, media storage and miscellaneous.
  • Confident at lighting a film set to create the perfect backdrop for multiple scenarios including talking heads, studio, and outdoor shoots
  • Contributes to the vision of the set and knows the latest filming techniques to achieve extraordinary footage
  • Casts a critical eye on footage and researches ways to improve approach
  • Interpersonally confident and able to lead some projects and be the main point of contact or closely liaise with the client
  • Manages all media ingesting (including labelling) and takes full responsibility for footage management and backing up
